Scholar Shares Allowance, Starts Donation Drive to Buy Relief Goods for Community

A young scholar in Muntinlupa went viral after sharing his allowance and starting a donation drive to buy relief goods for the community. His kind deed earned praise from netizens who admired this determination to help others, even if could have just kept the money.

Jarred Gaviola, 15, is a Grade 9 student at Muntinlupa Science High School. He is also a scholar. When he received his scholarship allowance from the local government unit (LGU), the young man decided to use the money to buy packs of milk and coffee to share with his neighbors.

He could have kept the money, of course, as he would most likely still need it for the next school year. Yet this young man thought about his neighbors and how they would also need some help. So, he decided to use what he received as scholarship allowance to buy some relief goods he shared with the community.

He prioritized the utility and canteen workers at his school as well as his neighbors.

After experiencing a warm welcome from his grateful neighbors and school workers, Gaviola decided that it would be a great idea to do a donation drive so he could give more! He does not have a lot of money to share but through his efforts, he was able to gather enough money from kind donors that helped him buy and distribute more relief goods to the community.

ā€œWe should be determined to live for something. May I suggest that it be creating joy for others, sharing what we have for the betterment of personkind, bringing hope to the lost and love to the lonely,ā€ Gaviola wrote as he shared a video from UNTV, featuring his story.
