Remember Jay Kummer “Dodoy” Teberio, the guy who went viral for selling bottled water in lively costumes some years ago? He’s now a full-time teacher!
But even though he now works as teacher, Teberio has not forgotten where he came from and what job helped him finish his studies.
So, during weekends and school holidays, this admirable teacher dons his costume, puts on his liveliest makeup, and accompanies his mom as they sell bottled water and other drinks in the streets of Cebu.
For many people who found success in life, there’s no going back to the humble jobs they had before attaining success; but for Teberio, doing so means paying tribute to that job that helped him become a teacher and reach for his dreams! Plus, his mom still enjoys selling bottled water and being in the street; thus, he also strives to help her out.
In a photo shared by Cebu Daily News, Teberio could be seen happily smiling as he brings a pack of drinks he sells in the streets.

“No matter how far I have reached or have become, I will never stop helping my Mom sell bottled water because this is where it all started. This helped me finish my studies. This played a huge part in making me who I am today.
My heart is always in teaching. I’m now teaching in a high school institution in Consolacion town. I think that it is my mission to inspire other people especially the young ones.
I am still here selling bottled water when I do not have class or during holidays. Sometimes, I’m invited to do hosting gigs or give motivational talks to the youth in different places. I would talk about life and share to them how I strived so hard to reach my dreams.
I want to continue to inspire the youth that poverty is not a hindrance to success. It may be a cliché but if you have a dream or a goal, you should work hard for it.
There will always be tough times but keep in mind that nothing so essentially great comes very easy.”
It is amazing that Teberio remains humble and still sells bottled water even if he’s now a teacher! This simply means he values his roots.
