A Grade 12 student from Talavera National High School in Nueva Ecija goes viral after being photographed while selling lumpia at the school where she studies.
We’ve only identified the inspiring student from the photos as Sarah. Her photos quickly went viral on social media after Sherydy Valdez Turalba, a fellow student at TNHS, uploaded Sarah’s photos from which she can be seen selling her lumpia while sitting in front of a classroom.
According to Sherydy, Sarah is from the municipality of Aliaga. At first, Sherydy mistakenly thought that Sarah sells lumpia as part of a school project until she found out that she sells lumpia so that she can earn money for school and daily expenses.
Sherydy also urges her schoolmates to patronize Sarah’s lumpia so that they can help her simply by purchasing some of her food products.
She also expressed her admiration towards Sarah for her courage and perseverance to finish her studies and to be able to graduate from Senior High School.
While some of us are fortunate enough to have our monthly allowances, spare money, and savings account, and parents to depend on, there are others out there like Sarah who struggle at their financial needs.
But instead of giving up or dropping out of school, Sarah did what others can’t. She stood on her own and became independent. She didn’t mind what others would think of her as she sells food to earn money. We hope that students who can read this article can learn something from Sarah.
