The faculty leader of Bacoor National High School in Bacoor, Cavite was so angry that the teachers had to convert at least ten of the school’s CRs as faculty rooms; thus, she posted photos of their difficult situation on her Facebook page – but she’s now facing the wrath of the school principal who plans to sue her for cyberlibel and other charges…
Maricel Herrera and her fellow teachers had to vacate their faculty rooms because the spike in the school’s enrollment meant that they needed more classrooms to accommodate the students. With the faculty rooms converted into classrooms, the teachers had no choice but to find their own faculty rooms.

A group of Science teachers decided to use a hallway near the toilets as faculty rooms while other groups had to convert ten CRs to faculty rooms, out of their own pockets.
What angered Herrera and the other teachers is that the principal approved the construction of an extension for the school canteen, yet the lack of faculty rooms was ignored. They were also told that faculty rooms are not necessary.

“Ang faculty room is not mandated by the DepEd. Ang function ng teacher ay magturo at hindi magpahinga sa faculty room,” said Anita Rom, the principal of Bacoor National High School.
This angered the teachers so much.
Herrera lamented about their plight on Facebook.

The post angered many netizens who took pity on the teachers. But this did not sit well with the school principal who now plans to sue Herrera for ‘ruining’ the image of the school and the entire Department of Education (DepEd).

“Ang sinira ay hindi lang imahe ng Bacoor National High School kundi buong imahe ng DepEd,” the principal angrily said.
She added that she was surprised the teachers chose the CRs when she instructed them to choose the library or set up office at the social hall. Yet not one believes the principal, considering that all the teachers chose the CRs or the hallways instead of the social hall or library…
