Campus journalism is one way of teaching the kids how to express themselves through writing. This is also one way for them to exercise their freedom of expression while also allowing them to improve their communication skills.

Remitio credits the photos to Shellarica Cinco-Arinto who is, apparently, the children’s teacher and school paper adviser.
Remitio wrote on his Facebook account, sharing the kids’ impressive photos:
LOOK: Understanding the value of journalism in our lives knows no age.
Elementary students in Babatngon, Leyte recycle trash and sell them as flower displays, coin banks to sustain their student publication’s operations.
They are also going door-to-door to sell old clothes, and collecting used plastic bottles to sell them to the junkshop.

A lot of netizens were also as impressed as Remitio, commenting that it was wonderful that these kids are learning not just to recycle these plastic bottles to help save the environment but they are also doing this for a cause. While many would have used the money for other projects, netizens were impressed that these elementary school children aimed to do this for their school paper.

Aside from teaching the kids how to be environment-friendly and introducing them to entrepreneurship at a young age, the teacher is also teaching them how to be responsible. Kudos to you all!
